At the recent NC Amatuer Qualifier at Forest Oaks, Ryan Sullivan fired a three-under par 69 to earn medalist honors. Chris Cassetta and John Sandifer also qualified into the event. The cut line fell at three-over par 75. Twenty-five players advanced to the 49th North Carolina Amateur Championship that will be played June 11-14 at the Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, NC.

The TGA was well represented at the recent Forysth Senior Amateur. Mike Kite was the winner in the Championship Flight for golfers aged 65-69. Mike Smith was the winner in the First Flight for ages 60-64. In the Championship Flight for those golfers aged 70-74, Ron Morgan finished second (by a single shot). We also were represented by Larry Hutchens and Gordon Daly. While they did not win their flight, we applaud them – along with the victors for carrying the TGA banner in another successful tournament.

In the “Stop me if you have heard this one before” department, Mike Kite and Ken Hester cashed in a recent CGA Super Senior Four-Ball event. This time, they finished third Net at the Statesville Country Club on May 18th.
