Summer luvin

Congratulations to Ryan Sullivan for qualifying for the USGA Public Links Championship at the Mill Creek Golf Course in Mebane. Ryan shot 140 to finish 2nd and earn one of 4 spots to make the field at the Public Links Championship at nearby Bryan Park in mid-July. Super job and best of luck in the Championship!

In recent CGA One-Day events, two more TGA members have punched their ticket to Pinehurst. At Duke University Golf Course on June 7, Tom Hartung took 1st place Net in Men’s A with a score of 74. Erik Mitchell took 1st place Net in Men’s B with a 70. Good job guys!

At Salem Glen on June 19, Tom Hartung earned another 1st place Net in Men’s A with a score of 66! (I wonder if he can auction that off to another TGA member for the trip to Pinehurst – what do you think Raymond?). Terry Payne shot a net 74 to finish T-3 in Men’s A. Mark Hartson shot a net 68 in Senior Men’s to finish T-4. Also, Stan Samoska was T-2 in Men’s B Net at Salem Glen with a 70 and Jim Williams shot a net 72 to take 5th Net.

At the CGA One-Day at Statesville on Sunday, June 27, Mark Hartson shot a net 66 to take 1st Place Net in the Senior Men’s Division. Another TGAer is on his way to Pinehurst this December for the Tournament of Champions. Good going!

Also playing in the same event, Dave Larmour finished 2nd Net in Men’s A Division with a 77 and James Gore finished 2nd Net in Men’s B Division with a 71.

That means that, as of July 1st, there are six TGA members that have already qualified for the One-Day Tournament of Champions; three teams that have qualified for the Four Ball Tournament of Champions and one Senior Four Ball team that has qualified. Let’s see if we can’t give them some company in the events during the second half of the season!
