Getting to the end of 2010

Chris Cassetta, current TGA Club Champion, came from 4 shots behind to win the Forsyth Invitational Golf Tournament at Winston Lake GC today with a three round total of 207, five under par.

The first round was at Reynolds Park (par 71) where Chris shot 67 to trail by 4. At Tanglewood (par 70) for the second round, Chris shot 72 and was still four shots behind the leader.

Playing in the penultimate group on Sunday, Chris was two under par for the day when he came to #18. He hit a great drive and his wedge approach shot finished 9′ from the hole. He stroked the putt into the center of the hole to finish with 68 and a five under total of 207. The gallery around the 18th green believed that both Anthony Tsiolkas and Uly Grisette were at four-under par coming to the 18th green needing birdie to tie Chris. Anthony hit his approach to 17′ but missed his putt and Uly nearly holed out his second shot leaving a tap-in for birdie. A play-off was looming. However, after officially posting his score, Uly came up one shot shy of tieing Chris.

There was also a large contingent of TGAers who teed it up in the event:
