From Mike Wilcox:
The sprigs are hitting the ground. The Tanglewood staff is rolling, top dressing and watering right behind the sprig crew. We should begin mowing in less than three weeks.
The last email sent out by Mike Wilcox could not be forwarded due to the size of the pictures. Now that I’ve learned the easy way to get pictures uploaded, I’ll make his emails to the Tanglewood course members a post on the web page.
Since our last update, the shaper has continued working around the greens on the back-nine including holes 10, 11, 12, 14, 16 and 17. The rest of the Wadsworth Golf staff has been busy shelling out, installing drainage and gravel, and spraying liners in the new bunkers around the front-nine greens. The sod crew has been laying sod on the green surrounds of holes 2, 8, 3 and 7.
Richard Mandell was on-site yesterday to inspect, make adjustments to bunker shapes and paint sand lines.
The greens are scheduled to be sprigged with Champion Bermuda next Monday, July 16.
