Many of you will have seen this in your email from the CGA. The very, very, condensed version is that you will need an email address registered in the GHIN system in order to be able to post scores from a computer other than the kiosk, or your smartphone. Note that the kiosk is currently turned off due to the pandemic.
Digital Profiles Coming to Your GHIN Account in January, 2021
In order to improve data security and golfer privacy, golfers will need to create a digital profile to access the GHIN mobile app and ghin.com beginning in early January 2021. Users are required to have a unique email address to create a digital profile and access the GHIN mobile app and ghin.com. From now until the end of 2020, club admins and professional staff will be soliciting members to provide a unique email for their GHIN account to prepare for digital profiles in 2021.
To prepare for January 2021, be sure your unique email address is attached to your GHIN account now! Contact your club professionals…
In January 2021, golfers will set a password for their account as they create a digital profile. A golfer will then log in to the GHIN Mobile App and ghin.com with their email address or GHIN Number and the password they created.
If golfers do not provide an email address, they will not be able to create a digital profile and log in to the GHIN Mobile App or ghin.com. They will only be able to access a Club Kiosk or have a Club Admin post a score on their behalf.
A minor under the age of 13 will need to be tied to a guardian’s account within the USGA Admin Portal. In January 2021, the guardian will will create a digital profile for themselves and will see a “Change Golfer” link when logging in to the GHIN Mobile App and ghin.com. Here the guardian can change who they are posting scores for – themsleves or one of their minors. A Club Admin can also post a score on behalf of a minor via the USGA Admin Portal. Minors can register their Guardian choices now – please see your club professional staff.
