All, what a great day we had yesterday with beautiful weather conditions! Oh, wait a minute, that was last month!
This month’s event was played in nearly constant rain and was a tough day to play with very soggy turf. The greens and bunkers held up very well. And thanks to the grounds keeping staff for getting the course ready to play after torrential rain on Friday! Despite the conditions, we had 84 players finish the round.
Taking First Place in the Parent-Child Flight was Mark Harper Sr. and Mark Harper Jr with a 70 gross. Finishing First Net was the team of Barry Kennedy and Ryan Beachly with a 68.
In the First Flight, Mark Nieters and Dave Larmour took first place with a 71;
Second Flight title went to Matt Bostic and Chris Domanski with 71;
Third Flight winners were Brian Sainz and Larry Wise with 79:
Fourth Flight Title went to Charlie Fisher and Ed Archer with a 78; and the
Fifth Flight winners were Maurice Banks and Ray Brewer with 88.
Congratulations to all the Flight winners and they are now eligible for the Tournament of Champions in November.
Closest to the Pin winners were the team of Scott Wearn and David Wilson on #3 and Jeremy Ray and Ben Spell on Hole #11. For the Greenie drawings, the team of David Summers and Jim Williams got the one on #7 and Barry Kennedy and Ryan Beachly on #16. Each was worth $80!
Special thanks to Terry Payne for serving as a marker. Also, thanks to Jim Williams, Brian Nason, and Brian Sainz for help with scoring; and Hayes Smith for supplying refreshments after play. And as always, a special thank you to Kitty for getting the signage ready as well as all the gift cards! And our TLGA ladies, Judy and Vana, who helped get you guys signed in and ready to go! And our treasurer, Joe Brooks, who keeps us on track financially!
Anyone who did not pick up their gift card or $$ from the CTP/Greenies contest, the next time you see an officer at the club (or at the next tournament), it will be there for you. See attachment for complete results.
Next up is the two-day Member-Member on May 18-19, with the first round on the Reynolds Course and second round on the Championship Course. There will also be a pre-party on Friday night, May 17, at the Red Barn at 6 pm with food and refreshments before we enjoy a Calcutta for the teams around 7 pm. More details to come.
