Congratulations to Greg Howard, the TGA\u2019s 2026 Super Senior Club Champion!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Greg shot rounds of 78 on Reynolds and 74 on Championship for 152 to win by 1 shot over Runner-Up Tom Birrittieri. Greg trailed Tom and Lee Ross after Round 1 by two shots. But after 9 holes of the final round, Greg and Tom were tied and Jerry Johnson shot into 3rd place with a 34, trailing by one. After some back and forth on the final nine, Greg and Tom came to #18 all square. Ultimately Greg\u2019s par on the last hole was enough for the win.
Richard Gottlieb got himself into the picture with the best round of the day on Sunday shooting a gross 71. He won 1st Net with 143. Jerry Johnson took 2nd Net with 144.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the B Flight, Charlie “I always win something” Fisher took 1st Place Gross with 154. He was also Low Net but since he can\u2019t win both, Steve Showalter took 1st Place Net with 141. Mike Utt shot 159 to take 2nd Gross and Brian Brosenne actually tied with Steve for 1st Place Net but didn\u2019t stick around for a playoff so he got 2nd Place Net. In our two-day tournaments, if there is a tie for 1st place gross or net, we have a sudden death playoff if the players stick around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the C Flight, the almost ageless wonder, Larry Wise, won 1st Place Gross with two rounds of 88 for 176, narrowly holding off Russ Sodaro who finished with 179 for Second Gross. Ray Brewer was in the hunt as well as he finished with 180 and he won 1st Net with 140. J R Lawson shot 148 to take 2nd Net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Championship Course is in great shape and the greens are excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The best comeback from Saturday\u2019s round to Sunday\u2019s round was a 19 shot turnaround – 94 to 75. The player asked to remain anonymous but you might be able to figure it out in the attachment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Good luck to the Super Seniors playing in the Senior Club Championship this weekend and good luck to all the players playing in the Regular and Senior CCs this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thanks to Steve Livingston for all the challenges he faced getting ready for and setting up for back to back club championships. This was the first time we had the Super Senior Club Championship precede the other two Club Championships. And thanks to BJ for the beverages!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
