2022 Late Summer News

A bit of news and some updates for you guys.

First, our own Treasurer, Joe Brooks, recorded his very first Hole in One on Friday, August 26th. Joe aced #7 on the Championship course. The hole was playing 147 yards, and Joe used his 3 hybrid. Congratulations, Joe!!

Also, for Joe and anyone else who makes a hole in one, please review our post from earlier this year on the CGA Acers.

Second, several of our Seniors played in a Carolinas Senior Amateur qualifier held at Tanglewood on Tuesday, August 23rd.

Those who “made the cut” and are advancing in the competition include Todd Brown and Gregor Howard.

Those who narrowly missed qualifying include Mark Harper Sr., Patrick Hynes, Hugh Quinn and Fred Uberseder.

Third, don’t forget to sign up for the upcoming Club Championship being held on September 10th-11th. Registration is open, and we’re looking forward to a great weekend of golf and camaraderie!

Last but not least — some general Tanglewood news that may only be rumor.

We may be receiving our first batch of new lithium ion electric carts in mid to late September. The cart shipment may be broken down into three shipments, and the carts coming this fall will replace the 70 electric carts we use today.

The gas carts are on a different lease schedule, and may not be replaced for perhaps two more years.
