from Steve Livingston, 1st VP
Well February weather is a crap shoot. The weather could have been worse, but no rain, no “cart paths only” rule, and only a couple of times where the wind reminded you it was still winter. All in all, decent weather for February 26th.
There were 66 players playing for a total purse of $990.
The purse is higher this year due to the addition of the Super Senior A flight. (note: some might say that it shouldn’t be higher if the payouts are based on the number of entrants, but there are two additional first place payouts that would have been 4th place or 5th place pay-outs with all the super seniors in one very large flight).
It’s the right thing to do.
The the cut line between A and B was placed at about 12.5 to balance the division members somewhat, so I’m interested to hear any comments from those in the Super Senior A flight or any near the cut line that are in the Super Senior B flight.
I’m kind of feeling my way around this one, but given the size of the Super Senior flight, it’s important to have the two divisions.
This is where a good portion of the dues increase will go this year.
Also, a better Member-Member Calcutta party (similar to our Member-Guest Calcutta) is being discussed. Food is more expensive and beer/soda is expected to go up this year.
On to the results:
Closest to the PIN – $70 each, we paid out $280 against the $290 pot. $10 to the TGA.
3 – Zach Barnes, #8 Jordan Ramsey, #12 Stevie Blankenship, #17 “the OG JK”….we think John Kennedy
We took advantage of everyone playing from the red tee’s to have 4 CTP’s, but may need to balance it out better next year with a mix of CTP and “greenie drawings”.
