Guys, Bermuda Run East came to Tanglewood on May 7, 2025 for our first Super Senior Interclub (SSI) match this year. And they waxed us pretty good. In our first match, Tom Birrittieri and Mike Utt were tied after the first nine but their opponents got hot on the back and won by 3 points. Tom was medalist for the day with 72.

In the second match, Mike Buckler and Gene Cox were two down after 2 holes but won four in a row to finish the front nine with a two up lead. They went back and forth on the back nine each team winning two holes. They finished with a two point win for the round. Mike had the third lowest round of the day with 75 and Gene shot 79.

In the third match, Mark Hartson and Paul Meyer held a one up lead after nine but their opponents got hot on the back and won 15, 16, and 17 to earn a three point win. One of their opponents shot 73 with a current 12.1 index!

In the fourth and final match of the day, Sam Crawley and Larry Fine got behind early and were 3 down after nine holes. They rallied to win #10 and #13 but lost #17 and #18 to a birdie to finish three down for the day. Sam shot 79.

Final results were Bermuda Run East’s 45.5 points to Tanglewood’s 34.5 points.

We play them again in June at their club so we’ll be looking forward to the return engagement. Next up for us is Maple Chase on 5/22 at their club.
