Yesterday May 10th, Team Tanglewood took on Twilight Golf Club(Holly Ridge/Archdale) at home yesterday. We were 2-0 going into yesterdays match looking to go 3-0.

First match was myself and Kenny Davis, We got up early winning 2 and 3. Missing some opportunities to extend on 4 and 5. At the turn, we were 2 down and fought back to tie on 11. It was back and forth from there on out. They won on 18. Kenny shot 35 on the back with 3 birdies. He played amazing, I was the anchor.

2nd match was Stevie Blankenship and Jonas Hellie, they won early and often. Closed the match out on 13. Lost a couple coming in but was able to secure the 12 – 8 victory.

3rd match was James Gore and Patrick O’Shields. Both guys played amazing. They never trailed in the match. Won hole 3 and 4 and exchanged blows coming in until they were able to win 13,14, and 15 to pull away. Winning 13 – 7.

4th Match was Chad Carter and Michael Gilmore. They were hot early, winning 4 of the first 6 holes. Gave up 2 in the middle and pulled away winning 12,13,14 and winning their match 12.5 – 7.5.

Team Tanglewood won 46 – 34 moving us to 3 and 0 on the year. We have played 17 guys through 3 matches. Would love to get the playoff roster to 25 for the playoffs. With our point total we should make the playoffs, win one more and it should be guaranteed. We are playing in a different pod this year and I was not sure what each match’s challenge would be. Team Tanglewood can play anyone, we have so many guys to pull from. Next match is at Colonial Country Club on May 31st.
