2023 Easy Day Results

from Mark Robson, 1st VP

TGA Golfers,

The first tournament of the year is in the books and a great way to start the year.

Highlights:

  • The Easy Day format with Red Tees, Throws and Mulligans is an ego booster and a lot of fun.
  • The Red tees are easy, but not that easy: only 11 out of 45 players scored in the 60’s.
  • Seniors Rule – all golfers in the Senior A and Super Senior A flights scored in the 60’s.
  • Throws and Mulligans: Not as easy as you might think: some guys throw the ball in the hole, and some guys throw the ball in the water.
  • Never trust the weather forecast. We had a couple of sprinkles yesterday, but all in all the weather was fine.
  • The Reynolds Course greens don’t get enough credit. They were smooth, medium-fast, and putted very nicely.

The full Easy Day Results are available here, but some highlights:

  • Todd Brown – Gross 64 for a Senior (no pars until the 12th hole)
  • Terry Payne – Gross 65
  • Hugh Quinn – Gross 67 for a SUPER Senior
  • Ron Hefner – Net 61
  • Dave Depietropaolo – Net 63

Closest to the Pin winners:

  • #3: John Kennedy
  • #8: Jonathan Kiser
  • #12 Todd Brown
  • #17 John Kennedy

Things get a little more serious (but not too serious) with our next tournament:

KISS (Keep It Simple Sandbaggers) Tournament Saturday, March 18 Championship Course Postable Round, Flighted Tournament

Finally, please thank our tournament volunteers when you see them. The TGA would not be as fun or successful as it is without volunteers. Also, please think about volunteering.
