In another very close match with Colonial CC this time at their home course, Team Tanglewood came up a little short. All 4 matches were tight down to the end.

In the first match, Todd Brown and Jerry Johnson shot a gross 65/net 64 to win their match 1 up. This was Todd’s first event as a Super Senior and also his birthday so he celebrated by shooting 69!

In the second match, Mike Utt and Bill Goodson shot a gross 72/net71 but their opponents shot 69 gross/69 net to win two up. Apparently Mike Utt brings out the best in his opponents as they shot 33 on the front nine and last week his opponents shot 30 on the front nine at Tanglewood!

In the third match, Eddie James and Joe Crocker shot 77 gross/73 net but their opponents shot a very strong gross 70/net 70 to win three up.

In the fourth match, Mark Hartson and Paul Meyer also shot 77 gross/73 net to tie their opponents who shot 75 gross/73 net. And they did it in dramatic fashion. Finding themselves 3 down with 4 to play, they finished with four straight threes (two pars and two birdies) to win three holes and gain a Tie!

Final results were Colonial 43 points and Tanglewood 37 points, the exact opposite of last week’s match vs Colonial.

With three matches left in our Super Senior regular season, we stand at 1 – 2. We have some work to do in order to make the playoffs. Next up is Bermuda Run West on June 15 at home.
